ATTER in force at the 12th Brazilian Congress of Agroecology (CBA) Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Agroecologia na boca do povo

ATTER organized a half-day workshop (oficina) entitled "Agroecological transitions in agri-food systems (Brasil, França, Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Itália) at the Brazilian Agroecology Congress on November 22, 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, which brings together around 5,000 participants.

Around forty people took part in this 3-hour workshop, in which Claire Lamine, Danièle Magda and Claudia Schmitt first presented and discussed ATTER's approach with Brazilian researchers and stakeholders, as well as the case studies of the Southern Ardèche, the Serra fluminense and Curitiba (case presented by Moacir Darolt and Alfio Brandenburg, present at annual meeting 3, and which will be part of the forthcoming extension of the ATTER observatory).

The second part focused on public policies and the role of social movements, with presentations by Florence Pinton and Jocelyn Parrot of ATTER. Renato Maluf (UFRRJ, CPDA) and Jean François Le Coq (Cirad) reacted to the presentations in a transversal way, and a lively debate then engaged all participants. The workshop was highly enriching, thanks to the diversity of contexts and viewpoints discussed, in the opinion of the participants. The wider participation in the CBA was also a valuable opportunity for the ATTER team to collectively grasp the Brazilian context.
